We recommend that you visit Nkhotakota Town which is located 20 Km away from the lodge. If you don't have your own car, our lodge staff can assist you with finding local transport. Nkhotakota Town is rich with history and also has the All Saints stone Anglican church.

Malawi's Department of Tourism offers a walking tour where you visit sites which were pivotal in facilitating the historical Arab Slave Trade to Zanzibar. You will see the remains of the first mosque built in this region of Africa, and the original door which was manufactured in Zanzibar and is now in a newer mosque. You will also see the tree where Dr David Livingstone negotiated with slave traders to end their activities.
